I love water. People find that hard to believe when I tell them, but I really and truly love the taste of water. In fact, I rarely drink anything besides water. Even though I’m on the pro water side, I can certainly understand when people claim to despise the taste of water. But, it tastes like nothing! I get it.
Unfortunately for those on the other side, water is necessary, and if you can get yourself to drink enough, it can also bring some amazing benefits to the body. But, if you hate water, how do you drink enough to reap those benefits? Take a look at these simple tricks for making your water tasty so that you can have your water and drink it too.
Fruit is an excellent and healthy way to add a little flavor to your water. Try slicing up a lemon or lime and dropping it in some ice water. If you’re not a big fan of these, you can try other fruits as well. Strawberries, kiwi, and even oranges make a delicious and refreshing treat. You can even buy a cup with a cylindrical center made specifically for fruit infusion. You fill your cup with water, the center with fruit, and then pop it in the refrigerator for a bit. While this won’t taste like a soda, it will absolutely provide enough flavor to get rid of the “water” taste. With a little time, you may even learn to love it.
Ice, Ice Baby
This is going to sound a little crazy, but simply adding ice can change the taste of water. Room temperature water tends to have a stronger flavor than ice cold water. If you don’t like water, try making sure it is always ice cold. You can even add the ice tip and fruit infusion tip together. Put fruit in your ice cubes, and plop them in your drink. You’ll get the healthy benefits of both, and you may learn to love the refreshing and satisfying process.
Powder and Additives
These are so simple. Check out your local grocery store for a box of water additive packets. They are low calorie, tasty, and an easy way to change it up. You can buy multiple flavors, and can even buy packets that boost energy. Before you buy, read the label. Avoid too much sugar or high calories, and you may be able to hold onto the benefits of water with a delicious flavor as well.
If you’re up for a challenge, try to learn to love water as is. If that’s too difficult, don’t stress. Just use these or other ways to spice up your water and you’ll still be able to gain the healthy benefits that it brings while enjoying the process for a lifetime.
